Painted en plein air at San Elijo Lagoon in Encinitas, CA, USA. San Elijo Lagoon is a saltwater tidal estuary that ebbs and flows with the ocean’s tides. It is a very serene and peaceful place, designated as a wildlife reserve. There are many great views to paint, this one looking west toward the lowering sun, over the ocean beyond. (August 2015). Painted with my affiliate members of the California Art Club.
