Rapt in Solitude, Original Plein air Painting
Original plein air painting by California Artist, Ronald Lee Oliver.
Painted en plein air at Old Padre Dam in Mission Trails Regional Park, Santee, CA, USA. I will admit that while the bird was actually in the scene (briefly) in real life, I added it and made some touch ups in the studio after this early morning plein air session. I still think since the majority of work was done in the field, I can honestly call this a plein air painting.
